Bio
Dr Katie Yin is a general neurologist with a special interest in Movement Disorders. She is a Sydney local and attended tertiary education at the University of Sydney, studying combined degrees in Bachelor of Medical Science, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, graduating with Honours. She completed her physician’s training at Concord Hospital and specialty training including a Movement Disorders fellowship at Westmead Hospital, gaining strong clinical and research experience in Parkinson’s Disease (including advanced therapies such as Duodopa intestinal gel infusion and Deep Brain Stimulation), Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus, Huntington’s Disease, Dystonia, Gait disorders, Tremor, and Botulinum toxin injections (Botox).
Dr Katie Yin speaks English, Mandarin, and Shanghainese.
Dr Katie Yin is a general neurologist with sub-specialty specialisation in-
§ Movement Disorders including Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus, Huntington’s Disease, Cervical Dystonia, generalised dystonia, gait disorders, and tremor syndromes.
§ Parkinson’s disease including managing Duodopa (levodopa intestinal gel infusion) therapy, and Deep Brain Stimulation surgery.
§ Botulinum Toxin (Botox) injection therapy for PBS indications of cervical dystonia/ spasmodic torticollis (head shakes, head tilts), chronic headaches/ migraines, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), blepharospasm (eye twitching), hemifacial spasm (face twitching), and post-stroke spasticity (stiffness).
§ Strokes, Seizure disorders/ Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Myasthenia Gravis, Vertigo/ dizziness, Migraines/ headaches, Dementia/ memory issues and other general neurological disorders.
